Welcome to Polkent.co.uk (Polkent.com), Kent's leading Portal for Polish community.
Based in Ashford and established in 2007 is only one of the Polish language portals in Kent, South East parts of England.

Within its field we are the dedicated portal that enables users in Poland and Kent to communicate with each other, follow the latest news and views from UK, especially from Kent and obtain an insider perspective on the stories of Poles in England.

We are focused on harnessing the power of the Internet to create deeply engaging destination that fuel user's passion for Kent and the things they should do or need to know after arrival.

As Polkent.co.uk (polkent.com), we responded to people's needs and indeed demands by launching redesigned architecture of our portal. Our features coverage offers very useful classifieds section and a full range of in-depth information devoted to the subject of living in UK.

We're providing useful information about English government, culture, education, multiculturalism, health system, housing, banking, working law and conditions, transport, getting around, and more. Also very popular forum gives the irreverent look at current Polish affairs and community activities in England.

As we move forward, we continue to be guided by our unique ability to think beyond what's merely possible to what people really want and need, and to innovate to those ideals.

In Poland, there is an available and willing workforce that can help meet 'Fresh Talent' needs in line with the English Executives initiatives. There are a huge number of people in Poland, considering relocation to UK to improve their economic situation. They divide into two main sub-groups: skilled blue-collar workers and students pursuing further education. They share the Brith view that prosperity rests on a liberal and competitive economy.
In addition Poles can assimilate very quickly, which is important in the long term, and there appear to be no cultural clashes.

England is welcoming country, but there are some pockets of concern under the generally open minded surface. Attitudes towards immigration are mixed and significant minority yet to be convinced. Admittedly, we never experienced anything else but true hospitality.
Our aim is to introduce and integrate Polish people into the English labour market but also into social, cultural and civic life. We would like to channel the big wave of new emigration and transform it into positive energy fuelling English economy.

It is our belief that providing specific information and guidance is the best tool to achieve this aim. We are currently witnessing the fourth year of Polish membership in EU structures (after successful admission in May 2004) and the number of people willing to study, work and stay in Englan is growing significantly and will grow even further.

To implement our ideas, we successfully developed an Internet presence Polkent.co.uk (polkent.com). We introduced an interactive service as a platform, on which interested parties could exchange experiences and solve problems concerning all aspects of 'making it work' in England. The design and format of Polkent.co.uk is based on our collective experience of living and studying in England.
